Yes you guessed it the ameteur tow bar and tie.Thinking about it it was an earlier Disco than the 3 and I think it was a set up for the guy running around in the Audi with a good looking reporter.

towballs should not be used for recovery pulling, the ball can shear off - at great speed Shocked .

Not a wind up its true, use them only for their designed purpose annoying me Evil or Very Mad At work

So what's the best point to assist with a recovery on if not the towbar? '09 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto

Towbars/balls can have several uses other than towing. Placing an caravan hater's rear part on the ball and taking a short off-road excursion, may cure a whinge or two Mr. Green 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

the tow eyes on the front or the rear are the best points for recovery

though these are not 'officially rated' recovery points as on the Disco3 etc as LR don't think the FL2 will get into such situations Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

The manual certainly says that these should only be used for on-road recovery which implies that these points are weak?

How do you go about having a "proper" recovery point on your vehicle? Anyone got one? '09 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto
