It's amusing when despite the weather it's business as usual for the LRE team. I must admit, being my first winter with the Freely, I do have a slightly superior attitude to other, lesser mortals with their versions of 4 wheel drive vehicles. Ralph

Back from Dunkeld LR Experience. Fantastic what an FL2 Auto can do. Conditions were 1-2 ft snow, deep ruts and solid ice. Managed all steep inclines and safely down using HDC. Sometimes used MR instead of GGS. Brilliant instructor. Lots of tips I would never have thought about, he let me prove they worked in what can only be described as most challenging conditions. We did not miss out any of the course because of snow, gradually progressed to the more difficult parts. Defender out on course at same time and I saw him failing some of the hills I managed with FL2 Have (if my limited skills work) added photos to my gallery All FL2's (3) Gone

Nice timing for a experience day, I imagine the FL2 was on the standard tyres. When I went in the instructor said the only difference with the cars they used are the LR experience stickers and that everything else is standard as you buy from a dealer.

When I went to the one in North Yorks, the instructor said their FL2 were all normal spec HSEs apart from the fact they had added a Fuel Tank guard. I never checked the tyres. '09 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto

I've been to the North Yorkshire site today to drive a D3. It was very slippery on the snow/ice and rather interesting after a failed hill climb just sliding back down before managing to whack it in reverse and letting the HDC do the work. Showed how much heavier a Disco is. Still had a good day and very impressed by the D3's performance but think i'll be sticking with the Freelander.

Done the Ashford one about four times now, you will enjoy.
