Top Gear Bolivia Special

Watched the Top Gear special last night Very Happy

Excellant one to watch, basically dumped at the river side on a barge with 3 4x4's

JC had a Classic Range Rover
May had a Suzki Rhino SJ410 thing
Hamster had a Landcruiser

Once off the barge a trip through the jungle heading to the pacific over the Andee's mountains

the scenery was great with the Typical TG banter along the journey

they went along the Bolivia death highway then upto 17000ft were they had to turn around due to lack of oxygen Shocked

Then to finish they drive down the biggest dune I ever have seen Bow down

Repeated through the week if you missed Top Gear at it best Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

The out-of-studio episodes are the best ones IMO.
Quality viewing. Thumbs Up

I wonder how a FL2 would have coped with last nights challenge?
Definitely would have been the ultimate test for the HDC on that last sand dune! FL2 HSE Manual in Stornaway Grey

It gets 7/10 from me, mainly because of the obvious staging of some aspects purely for entertainment value. The worst example was Hammond getting out of his car to 'accidentally' let it roll down the final descent. It's those little embellishments that insult our intelligence. Otherwise - enjoyed it.

I agree stuff like that does spoil it and I presume a huge clean up bill also was spent as they couldnt exactly leave it there

I also was thinking how a FL2 would have done, But I can't afford 10forcash's Tunisia trips never mind Bolivia Big Cry Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Its a pity they did'nt all run out of oxygen and never got back down again Evil or Very Mad , then we could be spared further programs Whistle - Top Gear has become the most unserious car program on TV and is hosted by 3 compleat idiots, who unfortunatly seem to be copied by other TV channels.

I do enjoy the progs but I must admit they way they go on about how remote and alone they are when they obviously have a 3 vehicle at least back up plus mechanics, parts etc and prob a doctor make it a bit less enjoyable.

Still it's the best motoring prog out there. There are loads of progs and websites, mags etc if you are looking for a serious review of a £7000 hatchback but if you want an irreverant view of motoring including smashing up caravans, trying to beat a gatso, or just driving some of the most expensive cars out there like there was no tomorrow, you cannae beat it.

It's true, they have exceeded their 'big kid' quota. It's yet another example of the BBC dumbing down it's programming to appeal to the lowest common denominator, like ITV always has. If we could just axe all the soaps and reality shows, and rein in the Top Gear 3 stooges a bit they'd (BBC) almost get some credibility back. Even BBC news is sensationalist and slanted - and don't get me started on Robert Peston - if I ever start on him I'll finish him. Evil or Very Mad

Whether you like the guys or not....if you've a UK TV licence...your paying towards their (No doubt large) salary Rolling with laughter especially Clarkson's.
Each to their own and taken with a pinch of salt it's amusing viewing - If you don't like it tune into another channel or turn it off and go to the pub Thumbs Up

Betamax...as modern as that...CG probably meant Cine film!
Anyway, on a serious note, I wonder if the Hamsters Land Cruiser was allowed to roll down the dune deliberately as it would have simply been too dangerous for him to chance driving down it bearing in mind his bad crash a couple of years ago.
Mind you I did wonder if the sand setting on our TR controls would have coped!
