Replacement Freelander 2 Tyres - Help!

Hi there...can anyone offer some advice for replacing the rear tyres on an 07 TD4 FL2 GS. I currently have 235/35/17 Goodyear Wranglers on the rear and 235/65/17's on the front...(not sure why they differ either?!)

cheap is good!!

many thanks....Darren

The rears sound wrong. I'm sure the standard size is 235/65 R17s. I'm sure the manual says that too.

Yep, 35 ratio would be very low profile wouldn't it?? Either way, they should all be identical.
I'd recommend 235/65/17 Continental Contact M/S. They're better in snow than Wranglers and still good in summer, but not the cheapest. For cheaper, try Marshals. I've run them on other cars and they've been grippy and hard-wearing - what more could you ask? Thumbs Up

Your rear tyres are very wrong. They are only half the profile height of the front, so the car will be sitting about 1 - 2 cm lower at the back at the moment. Should be 65 profile all round for 17". Sounds like car tyres at the moment, so would be worth checking the load rating, should be 104 or 108 Thumbs Up Freelander 2.2e HSE , Privacy, Fully debadged, 19" Chrome SHadow alloys

If you bought it from a dealer take it back NOW as having the wrong size tyres will not do your gearbox, ecu, & diffs any good at all mate.

That's a very valid point. Mixing diameters between axles could have implications for the transmission, particularly in terrain response modes.

As the size should be 65s, you could speak to AJS tyres (sponsor of Disco3).

Check something like black circles for options (remember to check load and speed ratings)

I bought Cooper Discoverer ATRs, and am very happy with them, cost less than £100 (if I remember correctly) per tyre fitted.

Thanks

Rich

I go to British Rubber on Baildon station near Shipley in West Yorkshire - really good prices, perhaps they have branches elsewhere.

I've got a set of 4 SE alloys with the original tyres on it. About 5mm of tread. Make me an offer.
