England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Zermatt Silver
Tyres, General Grabber AT2

Hi Everyone,

I'm once again seeking your help. Looking to change the tyres on my Wife's FL2 GS. Currently running the standard fitment conti 4x4. Which I think are just standard road tyres.
I would like to put a tyre on that will perforn both on and off road 80% will be road use 20% dirt tracks etc, "Daughter of a farmer"
I have been told by a friend that the General Grabber AT2 is a very good tyre that will meet our requirements.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

The current tyre sizes are 235/65/17

Had a quick look on the net but cant see the grabber in this size, so another quetion would be what sizes can I use on the standard GS wheel.

Thanks in advance

Wayne

I know they don't do AT2s in the right size, but there's a few on here fitted them in a close size (your risk with warranty I guess). DO a search, and I'm sure you find the articles.

I've gone for the more road biased offroaders (usually called ATRs) which I like. I've got cooper, but I believe pirelli and Michelin and possibly others also make them.

You could speak to someone like the site sponsors Duckworth or 10forcash, they may have good views on tyres (and are all very helpful)

Hope that helps

Rich

Hi,

We are looking at Kumho KL78 Tyres - Hope to get fitted this week as look like a better tread pattern than existing tyres.

We use the car for towing horse box etc so needed a decent tread pattern.

I think someone else on here has experience of them.

Will report back when fitted.

I can highly recomend the Kumho KL78 in the standard 235/65/17 size, no road noise and good AT tread, just the job in the snow at the moment.
Have a search on here as I posted a few weeks back on them, might be a bit aggresive if your only looking at 20% off road though.
