Intermittent transmission fault

Hi

This is my first post on any forum so hopefully there are no obvious mistakes or omisions.

I was driving my FL2 TD4 yesterday when I felt failry violent jerks when drive was lost momentarily, then regained.
No indications or warnings were displayed or heard.
The engine did not cut out.
The fault occured in both cruise control or normal drive.

I stopped, turned off the engine and ignition, restarted and carried on, - the fault returned.

At its worst the fault occured 3 or 4 times in a minute then everything would be normal
for 5 or ten minutes then it would return.
At other times there would be one jerk then it would be ok for a while.

It felt as though the fuel had been momentarily cut off to the engine.
The diesel has been in the car since last week and car had been driven with no problem.
Could it be droplets of water within the fuel? or problem with a signal to the stop solenoid?

On my return home which took about an hour the fault never returned, all was normal.

Landrover Assist came out today to interogate "Deep thought" and found various fault codes which they thought were caused by low battery voltage (which was 11.6V)
There were two other fault codes (comms) for the Haldex transmission unit which he cleared, we then went for a test drive and found s*ds law is alive and well as no fault occured.
Taking the car to the dealers next week but thought there maybe some ideas on what the cause is within this vast arena of knowledge.
I did find there is a history of problems with the Haldex drive sensor on your site but the fault symptoms were not the same as mine.
Any help is much appreciated

Sounds a bit similar to the early stages of transmission failure that i experienced. Started with an occasional stutter when pulling away but this went away once heated up. Took it to the dealer a couple of times and by the time i got there the fault was gone. About two weeks after the first occurence the transmission fault warning flashed up and i went straight to the dealer. Again fault was not apparant and left the car overnight with them. I was phoned the next morning to be told that there transmission had failed and they had ordered a new auto box.

I presume yours is an auto, is it a 57 plate and how many miles have you done. Mine was back on the road within a week with new gearbox and no cost to me.
