rust

Helo, i want to ask you if that rust is normal. The car is 3 months and it has 12000 km. Do you have the same problem? Sorry for my english. Please take a look at the pictures. I dont speak very good.

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Baltic Blue

The components which are rusty are the same as on my car. They are solid steel so surface rust does not affect there performance or life still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit

panoslevidi: Seems a rather strange place to keep a cloth rag (under the drive shaft coupling - first photo)

The cloth put it there the engineer. I dont know why because i am not there.

Probably left it there by accident.

I have lost count of the number of spanners, screwdrivers, prybars etc that I have found under the bonnet after a mechanic has had a tinker

There is no point in replacing them, unless your planning on keeping the car in a hermetically sealed room like a show car

The replacement parts will be made the same, and will over time be the same, Stop worrying about it and enjoy driving the car

On closer look it looks like a pair of knickers

It's normal for these components, if you want to see rust 'grow' spray some water on your brake discs... you'll see the rust appearing in minutes!

- is there a product for washing them as well
