Yep, you nailed it... Resetting the windows fixed the auto-up...

Sounds like it may be hitting an obstruction, this is probably what it'd do, as a safety feature, haven't tried at putting my hand in the window and closing it.

Oh what a great forum..mine's started playing up a bit now...going up and down when you try to close the drivers window..now I know the fix

I had the same problem early on, when i got the car, but as i was going for a first checkup that week, they sorted it for me.
