Ukraine 2013 Freelander 2 2.0T SE Auto Fuji White

I installed my roof rails.

The rear plastic caps are a joke at the very least! I've stuck on a piece of black cloth tape across the plastic & aluminium casting to hold it on until I work out a more permanent solution.

Maybe glue it it on with a pile of "roofing & gutter" silicone.

IF YOU HAVE NOT LOST A REAR CAP, YOU WILL, we warned, especially the left one. The injection mould is so poorly designed.

I made a modification to the left one to hold on better, it is far from ideal, so I won't bother showing it, so I also stuck on some cloth tape to hold it on in the meantime.

LR use a Volvo rubber strip in the crossbar (probably the whole crossbar is from Volvo) but are too lazy to have a proper snap on injection moulded rear end cap. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I lost the rear right hand side after 6 months of having them fitted. It never sat right from new which I pointed out at the time of picking up the new car. Dealer replaced it for free when it did actually fall off. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

The same happened to me, mine were dealer fitted, came off after 3 months right rear,
went back to dealer they said it was an accessory so not covered, till I pointed out that car was ordered with roofrails so not an accesory, shoddy fittment , not fit for purpose inherent fault, I want my money back....all 30 K+

new one put on in 10 mins plus 3in bag ,rest of set in case anymore " fell off "

Now on 3rd freelander it has never happened again .....??

did they get it right or was I just lucky ..... Whistle Whistle Wales

Mine are as solid as a rock!
Swing off them all the time washing the car, don't move.
I would suggest how they were fitted originally would have a lot to do with it.

Well, while the replacement I got earlier fitted nicely, I've lost it again! The replacement replacement will be stuck on as well!
