Only 1750 kg for the auto diesel when its out. This won't be an issue for most caravan towers (although some twin axles are heavier than this) but it might be an issue for horse trailers, although most of those don't seem to regard the law anyway Wink

It will be interesting to see what is actually published regarding towing weights in each country. The method of calculation seems to vary from country to country. I know that the current Freelander is rated lower in the USA than it is in Australia and yet structurally it's exactly the same world wide..
I'm still saying 2000kg for Australia.

This info is from the specs that Dickgriff listed on D3. I think they will be accurate as it is quite the norm for an auto to be rated lower due to cooling issues, although it seems strange that it is from memory more powerful and torquey than the TD5 which was rated 3500kgs Confused

That's an awful big load, are you looking to tow something large? I'd have thought the 90 would be a better bet, or maybe a D3 Very Happy Wink

Towing Weights

In the Disco2 (and I am sure P38A) owners manual it tells you to pull of in low range then change into high range when towing a load greater than 2000kg. So a Freelander without low box seems sensible at 2000kg.

Even a 1.8 Freelander is more than capable of towing >2000kg, its just not strictly legal to do so Wink

Move to Australia. You will be able to have a Freelander 2 and tow 2000kgs. Smile

Sorry I didn't make it clear 2000kgs is for the manual diesel and petrol 1750kg is the auto diesel when it comes out in spring 07 Crying or Very sad

I still say it will be a flat 2000kgs here in Australia.
Don't forget that if current form is anything to go by Australian models will be fitted with extra transmission coolers as standard.
