The news is already out there. This IS accurate. Door handles are shown so this is production proto rather than the concept. Don't hold your breath though. Not likely to see one on the road before 2011.

Looking at the various pictures in this topic, it varies from looking like Freelander 2 and a BMW X6 - A vehicle I could never see the point of.

Dream away if you think the production car will look like that 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof. Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. |

But these are just computer generated pix! I only believe the LRX will be real when I see it on the streets. if the Range Rover LRX just looks like a smaller Freelander it won't sell! I don't hope Land Rover made the same error as with the RR Stormer which looked great but was later sold ass a RR Sport which is just a RR with another engine! So what is it that makes the car a "Range Rover" as opposed to a "Land Rover". The distinction is very loose to me and the LRX designated as a RR, which is based on a Freelander ("Land Rover") platform, confuses even more.

If the LRX is based on the Volvo/Ford Kuga it is even less offroad capable as the Freelander.

Think LR have got their marketing knickers twisted. The product/model name should reflect the intended usage and offroad capabilities
