My FL2 has the OEM electronic TPMS but it doesnt display pressures just alarms when there is a low pressure detected.
Would be nice if one could tap into the info already there. Jules

It is interesting how much tyre pressure varies, from summer to winter. Driving for an hour with the sun on the same side of the car, easy to do in Australia. 3 to 4psi just from the sun alone.


One really useful aspect is that you know what each of your tyre pressures are. Then you notice one tyre down 1 - 2psi out of character.

It's gone down slowly so it's not an immediate issue. When you are in a safe place or get home, you look at the tyre. Half a dozen times to date it has been a screw. Often the leak was so slow we just left the screw in the tyre & deal with it later. When travelling around Australia we were airing up & down all time.

When stopped for a few days in a remote area we would pull the screw out & plug the tyre.

We often let the tyres down to 24psi. So we had set the TPMS +- 8psi alarm midpoint to 30psi (2psi increments) which was high enough for road pressure, warming up & the sun, in general.

If we were on sand we dropped the tyres to 20psi. The next morning with very cold weather the pressure dropped a bit more. The outback you have very hot days & zero °C at night, so psi is all over the place. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
