Outside Temp/Air Conditioning

Hi All

My outside air temperature reads wrong on the dashboard, almost always in the minus numbers (usually around -35°C) and as a result the air conditioning does not activate. Very occasionally it will find itself in the positive numbers and the aircon works just fine.

I have changed the outside air temp senso in the passenger door mirror but it did not make any difference. Are the sensors polarity sensitive?

Is there a way to short the harness wiring or something like that to put it in to some kind of default reading to allow the aircon to work?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Jason

Sounds like you have a bad connection, have you downloaded the Repair Manual and Wiring Diagrams from this site -- The Climate Control description starts on page 1628 -- Wiring Diagrams start page 3123

This thread is on the site although apart from the explanation I am not sure that it is too helpful

try searching on forum using suitable search words. 'Climate Control'

I would suggest that you look at door (hinge) wiring/connectors and/or anywhere that has been worked on lately.

Also it would help if some history and background info was available in your post. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
