Will your FL2 start using a battery booster?

Thanks - starter motor had crossed my mind & now you mention it, I recall in the past fitting a refurb kit either to my D2, or a FL1 or FL2… it was a known issue & Denso supplied the kit to repair it. As far as dtc codes go, I have an IID tool which has been very good & which I don’t think is missing anything here as there is no restricted performance message being displayed on the dash which suggests to me it is something that doesn’t have a sensor. I’m pretty certain it had a fuel filter at the last service, I’ll check but if it did I don't think it’ll have been a genuine one! I was wondering about throttle body but I took it off when I checked the intercooler hoses & it moves freely with no tell tales of broken gears inside. |

Am about to check battery voltage & try to jump start it now I’m home from work - it was all a bit of a rush this morning! As above, I need to check the bill but think the fuel filter may have been replaced at the last service & if so would be pretty certain it wouldn’t have been a genuine one. As for turbo vanes, how would I know without stripping it? Throttle response was really bad but the throttle pedal reset (or dpf regen) made it very responsive last time. I’m wondering if the lack of response is the gearbox needing a flush & software update? |

Contacts in the solenoid on the starter. The click indicates that the electromagnet is working but the supply to the coils in the motor isn’t getting through due to poor contacts. Kits are normally available on the bay of thieves. |

This thread has a few ideas about lack of power and the answer to the OP's problem. (MAF Sensor)

Have checked the fuel filter & it’s a Nappa branded one so doesn't fill me with confidence - have ordered a new genuine parts one. If that doesn't work then I’ll look at the MAF sensor.

Thé fuel filter has to be favourite…….‘Nappa’ is a brand I have never seen but I have seen lots of spurious cheap fuel filters on EBay..I always buy a genuine filter kit ….more expensive but the fuel filter doesn’t need changing that often. As you have researched there are lots of problems caused by these cheapie filters. When you take the genuine filter out of the box you will see it is made by Purflux for LR….identical.
