Service Indicator Reset on 2014 FL2 SD4

So called Brazilian method didnt work on mine and I couldnt remember how i did it in the past.

Found this video explaining it - very easy

Worked first time for me but you do have to wait at least 60 seconds (i used my phone's stop watch)

1) ignition only ON.
2) pull bonnet release
3) open drivers door
4) push brake and accelerator pedals all the way down - hold for 60 secs
5) release pedals
6) turn Ignition OFF
7) shut bonnet and door, and restart engine and wait to see if service indicator re-appears. Jules

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Bali Blue

I needed to reset the 'Oil Service Visit Dealer' message yesterday. I normally use the 'Brazillian' method but this time it wouldn't reset. Tried several times but didn't work. I remember there was an alternative method by pressing the brake and throttle with ignition on. This method worked first time.
It got me thinking, who the hell thought up these ways to clear the message.
Are there any other combinations of depressing, holding clutch/brake/throttle pedals and what are the known or unknown results? 11 GS Bali Blue
07 GS FL2. Usually muddy. Gone
Numerous LRs since 1963

You can put EPB (handbrake) in service mode in order to work on the rear brakes by holding the pedals down, not aware of any other functions as yet? 2013 FL2 XS.
