2015 Discovery Sport, 2.2 - Backbox

Some kind soul has managed to squash and deform one of the 2 pipes that comes out of my backbox and the exhaust tip is squashed too..

Needless to say I am not terribly impressed. However, I'd like a solution.

The obvious one to me seemed to be cut the deformed pipe off, weld on a new replacement pipe and tip and voila.. however, this seems tricky..

Another option seems to be replace the backbox but there seem relatively few available.. most being off a 2.0 Litre diesel. Would these be suitable?

The obvious solution is replace like for like, several issues with that being 1. its the best part of a 'big bag of sand' and 2. its a bit over the top..

Any helpful and thoughtful comments welcomed and thanks in advance ...

Option one would be my preferred solution.
Have you access to a mig welder? It's probably going to be a stainless steel back box but I'd imagine you get away with using normal mig wire.
Any exhaust / fabrication type business could do this easily and cheaply for you. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
