PTC heater

How does the PTC heater work and how do I check it, should I get heat instantly ?

Mine provides heat on a frosty morning well within a mile of starting and leaving home.

Not instantly, but pretty quickly.
It's very common for the PTC to fail, or the fuse and relay powering it. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
