I wonder if anyone can help or suggest how I fix this.

When we got into our 2010 Freelander 2, a few minutes after starting and moving off I got a “Passenger Front Door Open” message on the dash. The door was not open. We tried opening and closing it a number of times but still get the message. When I tried to lock the car, it will not lock, and sounds the horn, obviously the system thinks the door is open. All the door locks are new and were renewed by a LR specialist a few months ago and were working as they should.

Basically the car is unusable until we get this sorted. So any suggestions as to what I can do would be most welcome!

The door open sensor is in the lock assembly.
I'd be checking the wiring between the door lock and the door module, just in case there's a wiring fault, maybe re-seat the module plugs?
Oh, Just because a part is new, doesn't mean it's not faulty, so if other checks don't show up anything, it could still be the door lock at fault. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

If the door sensors are in the lock mechanisms and these were replaced by Landrover recently, surely you can get them fixed under warranty? Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2.2 SD4 Fuji White - 2012 (2013MY)

I’ll get on to the garage and armed with this knowledge I’ll see what they say, in the meantime I’ll try disconnecting the battery to see if this forces a system reset
