hi there i am new to freelanders and i have a 2013 GS model with 2.2 diesel and autobox.
i know there are loads of previous topics on these sort of issue which are all baffling to me as i am unsure of the issue.

The best way i can describe this is :
the issue that's troubling me is that it is not a smooth/seamless ride on low to little throttle, if i have a lot throttle ie medium to hard acceleration is seem to pull well and shift seamlessly but on light throttle it seems to bog down as if no power in engine or i feel like its has the odd single misfire which diesels don't do or its a very jumpy gear change for example it really doesn't like the new 20 mph zone or 30mph really and some time if at 40 or 50 with very light throttle its the same for a moment as if it engine is bogging down or not reactive.

again it pulls really well under medium to heavy throttle/load

i cant tell if it is engine or in to high/low (ie wrong) gear

Doesn't sound right have you tried driving in command shift mode and see if it's different?

Hi My apologies im new to all this

milage is 54K its had regular services looking back but no notification of gearbox/diff oils being done/serviced !! only engine fluids.

it has had cambelt /water pump and done 2 years ago (only 1500 mile done since) along with engine fluids & flush

i have read on here about gearbox , front/rear diff & hadex fluids/filters etc worth doing and was thinking about sending it in for a full service including all those for peace of mind as car is new to me

but struggling on whether to go to Landover for this or my local garage whoi normally do my cars for the work

Personally I wouldnt go to a LR main dealer - they will charge a lot for something that requires no specialist knowledge - eg changing ATF.

Look around for an independent LR garage Jules

Whatever the badge on the bonnet says your Freelander isn’t a Land Rover. The engine, gearbox transmission and Haldex are all used by other manufacturers and the car was designed by Ford.

Don’t a lot of manufacturers share development costs and use the same parts with a different label/badge on it ?

Yep - Look at VAG - Audi, Seat , VW, Skoda Jules
