Starting issue

Hi I have a problem which has just recently started with my 2011 Freelander 2 sd4 hose auto where I’m having to hold the start button pressed until the car will start, it no longer does anything if I just press once and release it like it’s supposed and used to has anyone had this or know of a solution to try

Hi it’s had a new battery a month ago just started doing it Saturday put foot on the brake press the button once like I used to nothing happens apart from ignition lights come on and stay on press it again they go off only way to get it to start is keep button fully pressed with foot on brake until the engine has started again if you take your finger off while it’s trying to start the process stops
no messages or warning lights not had it scanned or into a garage yet.

Hard reset. Then try waiting until the system has finished booting before pressing the brake and start button a second time. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

See Nodge's reply in this thread

https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic39777.html?highlight=hard+reset

Basically the battery leads are disconnected from the battery, and touched together for a couple of minutes to fully remove an residual charge to dissipate from the electronic modules, then reconnect battery. Note you will need to recalibrate/set a few things like windows. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
