Is it worthy of my pedal power?
Is a 20" frame about right for me 5'11 tall ?

I went to 'moonglo' cycles in Ripon earlier today, 'giant' bikes seem a decent brand, but they didn't have that model in stock for me to test. I do not want to tackle mountains just roads and farm tracks. Frequently with my son in a rear carrier. At work

Looks a reasonable bike, Giant are a good name.
I wouldn't tackle anything other than pretty smooth roads on it though or it will start to jar your farmers a bit.
20" at your height sounds about right but with that sloping crossbar it would be wise to try it first if you can, as well as your height you have the reach for the handlebars etc which varies with frame size.

At that price it will be a pretty basic bike but should do you for pottering around.

Personally I prefer 26 inch wheels with a bigger tyre for more comfort, control etc, these are 700mm, its a bit like 16 inch LR wheels with big tyres are more predictable and comfortable offroad than 19 inch with low profile tyres,
The upright riding position would be fine in Norfolk but a bit of a hindrance in hilly north Yorks
Quill stems usually means a 1 inch steerer tube which is a bit old fashioned.
If I was in the market for a mainly on road city type bike I would try Cycle Heaven in York, for a lot more advice etc you could do a lot worse than speak to Cycle sense in Tadcaster.

You wont go far wrong with a boulder, giant have been making them for years

Giant is a well known brand (not just in the UK) and do make some good bikes But you only get what you pay for and £200 seems pretty cheap to me. Reading the spec. on the Boulder, it would seem it might be ok to go to the shops on, but not much else.  2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

You could be really green and take all the bikes and the pushchair in the pickup, You know what you really need is a tandem, I might have a spare one for sale...................

yeah right, my Mrs would sit behind me and never help with the pedalling. In France once me and some mates hired a 3 seated bike. we declared it un-ridable and took it back. it was in a hilly town not the best place for learning to ride a trident, tri-cycle or what ever you call a 3 seated bike. We ended up on some childs scooter like contraptions with motors, they where great fun  At work

It's called a triplet.
the front and rear peddles are connected by a timing chain on a tandem, the peddles have to move round together, if you fit clipless peddles on the back the wife has to at least turn her legs round

or she could sit at the front, but she would steer us to the nearest shoe shop  At work

bike arrived today goes nicely after I set the gears up.. I guess the bike shop would have done all that if I had bought it locally .

Bike is fairly light so I'm happy and of-course it is painted black  At work
