Big accident in my LR2 last night.

In case anyone was wondering about the safety of these vehicles I can attest that these are SOLID vehicles.

Last night I was on the highway when a large (60') transport truck and a 4 door Honda Civic tried to merge into each others lanes and the truck clipped the rear end of the Civic. The truck spun the Civic around and started to plow it down the highway when the Civic broke free and spun right into me. I barely felt the collission but once the Civic hit me it bounced right off me and flipped over twice and landed on it's roof. The driver of that car was taken away by ambulance but is in OK condition. I am fine and really didn't feel the hit much at all. I will say the passenger side of the truck is completely smashed and I even have 3/4" deep gashes in the rims.

Drive safe everyone but also be comfortable knowing this is a very safe vehicle.

Jim

jmccaff, I feel so sorry for you. Fortunately, you are not hurt yourself but I can imagine how it feels.
I wish you more luck in the future.

I knew someone would ask for photos and I would be happy to post some but I didn't take any. I'll see if I can go by the dealership tomorrow and take some. Smile

Hi Jimccaff,
You may go to Gallery (just under the site header), then create a new album (give it your name) and then go to upload pictures. Thumbs Up

I think a new door handle, a splash of T-cut and a wheel polish, and you won't notice anything !! Laughing

Seriously, it's really good to see how these vehicles hold up in a real accident, just a real pity for you that you had to be the one to find out first! Hope the repairs are done quickly (and well), so you can be back on the road soon.
