Possible PTU leak?

Hi to everyone and happy new year

Just wondered if anyone has had this before or have any advice..basically its a bit of light oil misting around the RH driveshaft where it meets the PTU. It then seems to slowly run down the side of the PTU and gather on the bottom casing.

Ptu oil level is fine so not too concerned but don't want it to get worse..
Has any one changed the seal on this driveshaft where it meets the PTU?

Its definitely not coming from anywhere else...brake cleaned the area and it returns in exactly same spot a week or so later...

Yes, looks like that, cant think of other leak. I would A) Clear it with brake cleaner, see how big the leak is. Maybe it is not something to lose your sleep over B) RHS steering knuckle off, wishbone off, driveshaft mounting bracket off, driveshaft out, old seal out, new seal in. Shouldn't take more than 2 hours Smile

I had an oil leak and turned out the PTU needed replacing. I haven't got the ability to do anything like that and ended up paying around £900 to have an exchange one fitted -and that was better than several other quotes. Hope yours is just the seal.
