Hi there

I’m new to this forum but a long term member on the FFRR, Disco and Defender ones, having owned many versions of each (currently a petrol 2017 L405).

I’m helping my parents out who want to buy a late model Freelander. It needs to be high spec (HSE or HSE Lux), automatic and with sensible mileage. Above all it needs to have been well-looked after, serviced properly and had any of the common preventative issues seen to (I don’t know what those might be for a Freelander, so would appreciate some advice there).

I’d really appreciate help from the forum on what to look out for in purchasing such a car - I’ll have a look for any buyers’ guides etc but practical advice from members is always best.

Hi there usual stuff like cam belt etc also they need a decent battery check all doors and tailgate open and lock as they should from inside and out rear door shuts at the bottom are prone to rust and check if it has wheel arch rubbers still on if they are deformed again check for rust.
