Problem solved!

Hello everyone,

Finally, I wanted to get in touch again. The problem(s) is/are fixed!

First problem: Defective power steering pump and clogged filter. I bought these new and as original parts and flushed the system with 6 liters of oil.

This solved the problem of the engine running too hard. Since then the engine has been running much more freely, no longer jumps when idling and the fuel consumption has fallen back to 8L (previously 9.5)

Second problem: Unfortunately this didn't solve the problem of vibrations while driving. That was another reason.

I then took the car to a LandRover/Jaguar workshop. The workshop manager has been working there for 30 years and knows the cars well.

After a long test drive it was clear to him: Haldex is stuck!

He took an oil sample and the oil was black and full of chips. The filter was also completely clogged and the clutch plates were stuck together. Therefore, the entire Haldex had to be dismantled and was cleaned with special cleaners, rinsed and reassembled. The differential also got new oil.

Then the Haldex got a software update and after a 70 km/43 mile test drive (road and terrain) it was clear: problem solved!

Then a few little things were done (engine diagnosis, greasing, adjusting the clutch, gearshift, chassis check, etc.).

Unfortunately this cost €/£ 1.000 Big Cry But the Freely drives like new car again and I'm annoyed that I didn't drive to an original Land Rover workshop months ago.

Thank you for your great help and I hope we don't write to each other again about this problem!

Super!

Very pleased to hear that you got it sorted, and that you also found an expert that you can trust. The forums and our own skills are sometimes not enough to complete the picture.
I hope you can enjoy your land rover now, and have plenty of adventures.
