How should these cable harnesses be routed?

I was checking stuff under the bonnet today and noticed some of the wiring harnesses under the airbox don't look quite right.
This is with the airbox removed.

Two things didn't look right
1) the wire up to the MAF sensor (thin cable running across the top of this pic) is pulled pretty tight and the support clip (hanging top right in pic) would not reach the hole in the airbox I assume it goes into.
2) the large harness looping over the gearbox linkage is rubbing on the link rod.

So it looks to be that all the harnesses down there should be somehow supported higher up?
Does anyone have any info or pictures of this area so I can see how it should be?

Ok, I think I can answer (at least part of) my own question.

I found a youtube video that gave me a brief glimpse of the area in questions and it looks like the large bit of loom that loops over the gearbox should be running along the front between the gearbox and radiator/gearbox cooler.
Why it has been pulled up and over the gearbox I don't know but hopefully I can put it back where it belongs so it no longer interferes with the gearbox link. FL2 2007 2.2d Auto SE. Baltic Blue.

You are correct, the large loom section runs past the front of the gearbox. There should be a metal clip that attaches it to the seam on the body below the air intake.

Mine wasn't clipped on properly and that bit of the loom was rubbing the front of the gearbox. I managed to get that clip back on and the loom is now held off.

I'll try and get some pics tomorrow, in better light...

Thanks, a picture would be very helpful but don't go to too much trouble as I am sure I will work it out now I know roughly where it goes. FL2 2007 2.2d Auto SE. Baltic Blue.

Have a look for a video on here on removing the starter motor. Undoing that clip and swinging the loom out of the way makes it easier to access the starter motor bolts. It's a faff putting it back sometimes but it's there for a reason and should have been put back properly.

It's here, about halfway down the page. See the comment about that cable clip.
