United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Biscay Blue
Muddy Weekender 2025

I know on this forum there is a few of us that use our Freelander 2's off road so I'm putting this thread together in case anyone wants some off roading fun in August Smile.

What is Muddy Weekender?

Muddy Weekender is the annual event that the Muddy Freelander group have every year. For those of you that have been to or are going to the Billing Off Road show then you'll already know of the area. Chell and Warren from MuddyMods book both of Billings off road courses (Riverside and Lakeside) and also book a section of land for people to camp on if they wish.

It's a great weekend that people can either come for a day, stay for a couple or stay from the Friday afternoon and leave Monday morning. It's normally the Riverside course that's open on the Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon and Lakeside course open Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. There is no charge on the amount of laps that you want to do so you can either do 1 lap or 100 laps if that takes your fancy Laughing. There will be a photographer roaming around the course and Alana and myself with our GoPro's to capture the fun Very Happy.

If you've never taken your Freelander 2 off road but fancy giving it a go then this could be a perfect event for you. Warren from MuddyMods (and others) are on hand if people want a passenger ride around the course. Or if you want, someone from the group can always jump into the passenger seat of your car and give you some guidance around the course Smile.

What do you have to do to get involved?

1. Join the Muddy Freelander group and get involved on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/MuddyFreelander

2. Read this website very carefully, it contains all the information you need about the event: https://www.muddyfreelander.com/

3. Countdown the days Very Happy.

I've made a video from a few of the highlights from the past couple of Muddy Weekenders. Before you watch it, I just want to make it clear that you can make the off roading as easy or as tough as you like if you've never done the Billing off road courses before. The Riverside course is reasonably easy going with cut throughs on the more difficult bits. The Lakeside course is full of cut throughs if there's something that you don't want to tackle.

If you want to know anything more, ask. If I can't answer your question I'll hopefully find someone that can Laughing. Without further ado, here's the highlights reel Smile:
