We have a electric heated floor in our conservatory that has a click laminate with a thin membrane over the electric wires as in the picture.



We want to tile over it but don't know the best way to lay them. Can i lay them on top of the laminate? If i use floor leveler the membrane can lift and make air pockets, if i use plywood there is no safe why of fixing it down, 18mm will be to thick, 6mm would be doable but to flex able, not sure if putting adessive straight on the membrane would work or safe the same with putting the adessive straight on the wiring.

Any information would be very grateful. Common sense isn't very common.

We have similar in our bathroom and ensuite. The heating elements are held In place by a type of plastic mesh. This was laid directly on the concrete floor, tile adhesive spread over the top of it and tiles directly on top. No issues at all. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
