Yes that’s all very good Gordon but what exactly happens when the little lever is pressed and the fob button is pressed once while indicating left and turning the radio on ? Mr. Green

I am afraid that some of the faults may be that ridiculous once the cables and connections get older in the complicated world of modern motoring.

I can remembering similar jokes in the tea room in the 1980s as the first interconnected electronic control systems appeared in cars. (although in those days the Light Programme featured as the programme selected) FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Gordon, I think that we should concentrate on why the Dashboard Button does not lock the Drivers Door, as it should be easier to understand. I don't think that it is in the door, but you never know.
Can you confirm that all other doors are locked in and out when in 'Dash Button Locked' Mode. We need further clues - perhaps someone knows that this a little known feature, controlled by dealer?

Unfortunately I have so far not been able to get a good description of what should happen from either the internet or forum search.
Another read of the Repair Manual and Diagrams will be necessary.

Sorry Gordon I can't seem to find the info I need.

I am inclined to think that the door is doing as it is being instructed by the (wrong) signals.
If it is indeed a software fault, it might be worth doing a 'Hard Reset' to force modules to reload.

Then next step is to PM Alex Pescaru for help, he is good at understanding the systems side.
