Faulty EGR - Replace or map out?

I have a faulty EGR. See fault codes below and engine light on with issues driving. I already have a blanking plate in place.

Should I replace it with a new/refurbed part or should I have it mapped out - or both?

Does it need to be working correctly in the first place to map out without further ongoing issue?

Advice or other suggestions please

As a new EGR valve will cost less than having it mapped out, you might as well go for a new valve. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

The problem is not the cost of the part but the labour to replace it due to location Shocked

Can have it mapped out for around £200... which will hopefully also give me fuel economy, performance etc...

Pierburg EGR coming in at £170 - and would plan to fit myself. So more or less cost neutral...

If I go for the map, will it resolve the problem of the faulty EGR even though I leave it in there?

It's a few hours to replace it's true, having just done the cooler on mine which isn't exactly fun.

You'll need to speak to the person doing the mapping, as to whether a faulty valve will still log codes. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

Thank you sir!

Not too bothered if the code still flag - just as long as it drives without stalling and cutting out. I guess its whether i fix this problem via hardware or software?
