Nothing specific to FL2 but interesting nonetheless interesting, well I think so.
Was watching a YouTube video last night of a guy changing the transmission fluid in his Evoque.
I found it odd he drained out 3 litres but put back 5. I queried this with him and he said
" You would need to be crazy to only put back in what was taken out"
Well in my opinon it is now overfilled or previously was underfilled. Also seems unaware that the capacity is some 7 litres so still a lot of old fluid in there. He seems happy with the one change.

The Manufacturers (FORD, LAND ROVER, VOLVO, etc.) tell their technicians to over fill the transmission.

Then warm it up and with the engine running remove the TORX drain plug and let the excess fluid drain out.


I never do that.


I measure how much I remove and I add back that much.


If you are really patient with the AISIN 6 speed and you have the right tilt angle then you can remove just over 3.5 liters.

I suspect that the 8 speed in the Evoque is similar

The Quarts on my jug are American so not the same as yours so ignore that side.

This Evoque has a 6 speed box assuming the Aisin one.

I can't see the point in doing a partial fluid change on the autobox, preferring to do a DIY full flush

Exactly. Try and replace as much as one can by 3 or 4 partial changes each time getting nearer to a full change.

Yes I think it went from 6 speed straight to a 9 speed in 1
late 2013
