Hello everyone

I was planning on revamping my 19" diamond cut alloys and had some others to use in the meantime. However the others gen LR wheels look very nice in black gloss and thinking of keeping them on. Now what would be best, revamp the originals to standard spec or have black glossed too? Would standard spec sell better than having them in black gloss? Or try and sell in their current sorry condition? Look forward to your thoughts. Thanks

Diamond cut wheels are extremely expensive to refurbish from what I've heard.
You'd be better off just selling them as is.
Years ago, around 2005 , I had a very desirable set of alloys for my Freelander 1. I had just put brand new A/T tyres on them but decided to sell them as I had also bought some M-Sport Oz Racing wheels that I'd had refurbished and put new tyres on and liked them better.
Anyway, the wheels were going for around £400 - 500 for bare rims at the time, the new tyres about £3-400. But I only got £250 for them because people didn't want them with A/T tyres, so I didn't get many bids. I would have been better off removing the tyres from the rims and selling both separately.
So, painting your wheels is just an expense you don't need and won't recoup back, or help them sell for any more. Let the buyer make that decision and save some time and expense.

The steering lock does cause non starting problems I as many have have fitted an emulator maybe worth a try removing the lower shroud and hitting the actual lock a few heafty knocks with a hammer and screw driver,having said that it’s usually combined with clicking in the passenger footwell.
