Boot unlocking issues

Hi, new member here so sorry if question has been posted before. When I press unlock on my key fob all doors unlock except boot. For this I have to press the ‘boot unlock’ button on fob. Until recently boot also unlocked with other doors when unlock button pressed but now have to do above to open.
Is there a simple fix for this? Thanks in advance.

I am pretty sure this is not a central locking fault. I am afraid that the microswitch in the tailgate handle has failed. Not to bad to change, plenty of info on this sight.

Yes. Replace the boot button under the handle assembly. Or continue to use the button on the fob, which is how I open mine most of the time. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

Remote control unlocks boot when that button is pressed but boot does not unlock when car unlock is pressed. Had worked ok up until a month ago.

Does it open with the 2 buttons on the dash ? Mine was same and it was the micro switch in the handle.

I have no buttons on my dashboard to open the boot.

Hold the Lock and Un-Lock button for 3 seconds and the boot should release.

This is the Two Button on the dash release method.

Hi again, the boot does release on its own button but not like before when it unlocked with all other doors. Am trying to get back to that.

Irish Draught…we’ve just sold the last of our Cleveland Bays! I assume what you are saying I can do on this 2011 model? I’ll have a fiddle around tomorrow. Thanks

You need to replace the boot switch assembly, which has been suggested twice.
The boot isn't unlocking with the switch in the handle because the switch has gone wrong, so the CJB isn't powering the lock actuator.
It's not really anything to do with the doors, other than when the doors are unlocked, the CJB allows the boot to release from the handle. It's working from remote because that's how the system is designed, it's so you can open the boot remotely without unlocking the doors first. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

There seems to be some confusion here. As I said before, this is unlikely to be an unlocking problem. The tailgate is unlocking as normal with the doors. It is just that the switch in the handle is not working so you cannot open the tailgate, even though it is unlocked. Pressing the tailgate button on the keyfob bypasses the handle switch and opens the catch.

Exactly the switch in the handle isn’t working it’s the switch in the handle.
