Thanks all. Think i will just take all the LED wiring out and put some old school in. Common sense isn't very common.

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

It would be easier to simply change the switch to one designed for LED lighting, especially as going forward only LED will be available, as LED is much more energy efficient. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. My daily driver.
