Front mud flap out of line

I noticed recently that the front offside mud flap has been somehow come away slightly from the body. It’s not obviously loose and nor will it push back into position.

I’ve looked at the Powerful UK video on how to fit them and there’s clearly more to doing so than meets the eye. But I can’t work out how it has come apart, nor how to get it back in place.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Thank you both. Funnily enough when I had another look at the picture a short while ago I noticed the poppers and wondered if a good thump might do the trick. I shall try that tomorrow. Thumbs Up

There are two parts there , the front mud flap , which if it is genuine has a quite fussy mounting bracket behind the wheel arch liner , and the plastic trim to the bottom of the wing which has become detached . If you can’t thump it back in place it might need splitting into two before re-assembly . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Fingers crossed a good thump or two will do the trick.

I had to fit a pair to my first FL2, as you said the video shows that you have to mark its position and then remove a few screws and insert bits behind panels.
I would reverse the process (take it apart), inspect bracket and fixings, repair if necessary, and refit.

It's not a big job, and would avoid further damage.

My attempts to simply thump it back in place were unsuccessful so I think I’ll have to try taking the mud flap itself off and see if the plastic cover panel is damaged in some way. Thanks for pointing me to the PowerfulUK video - their stuff is always first class.
