Has this been used for low speed short journeys? might have to go to main dealer for forced regen? how long have you had it? 2013 FL2 XS.

Touching wood I've never had the slightest dpf issue or even been aware that it's doing a regen on mine. I suppose fairly regular towing a caravan on the motorway gets it hot enough to prevent such issues? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Having done 45,000 - 100,000 & 30,000 miles respectively in three DPF equipped Freelanders, I've never seen a warning light come on for the DPF.
Obviously the higher mileage is helping me along I should think.
Had no end of problems with a 2007 Audi A4 2.0 TDI from new, which by around 20,000 miles had been doctored to remove the guts of the DPF. No problems subsequently.

More info might be useful - age, mileage, driving style etc.

My understanding is that repeated short stop & start trips will start to clog a DPF (eg in town commuting) . The car will attempt automatic DPF regeneration but it requires a longer trip to get the DPF hot and burn out the soot (eg 30-40 miles at steady 70 mph)- you only have a limited opportunity to do this and just continuing short trips will make it worse.
Once its fully clogged there is nothing you can do except take it to the JLR Dealers who may be able to unclog through their software link. If that fails its a new DPF.
I hope I'm wrong on the last bit.

Ive never had issues with any DPF car but I dont do short, slow commutes. Jules

Not having a DPF i can only suggest you try one of the DPF cleaners available from Halfords.
Unless some more knowledgeable member can suggest something different. Jim A

Just wondering what are the live values for the exhaust gas temp sensors, the DPF pressure differential sensor and the O2 sensor. If they are not reporting correctly will it not impact the DPF regen

I believe they can be removed and physically flushed out, similar to a radiator, with suitable chemicals, not really a diy job. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

The internet appears to say that you need to apply some diagnostic/procedures to get over the problem once the code is showing.

Thats the 2.0 ingenium engine which is notorious for DPF and oil dilution problems due to the DPF being too far away from the enging to get hot enough its a design fault, fortunateley FL2 due not suffer from this. 2013 FL2 XS.

Yes I tried this in a Audi 2.0 TDi which had the DPF light come, put it in the fuel and went on a fast motorway run after 15 mins the light went out and never came back on till I sold it couple of months later. 2013 FL2 XS.

Hi Rob1234, any answers yet on your DPF.
Two suggestions for a DPF cleaner and one who successfully used one.
We all like to know for future help to members
