Mowog - are you saying they do remove and replace spring?
If so, what about official LR reconditioned ones.

Ingenious-al - excellent video, thank you.

what I am saying is that most, if not all Haldex reconditioners( including Landrover) do not remove the shear bolts
and then remove the accumulator springs, clean out the accumulator and refit the springs and new bolts.

Do Bell Engineering do that with their refurbished Haldex at £750 + i wonder has anyone had a refurbished Haldex fitted by them and know ?

I am not sure.
Last year I had a diff exchanged by them ( upgraded pinion bearing)
I sold them a milling machine which I suspect was going to be used to assist the removal
/replacement of the shear bolts.

Unless the spring is removed and components cleaned or replaced then I can’t see
how the gunge can be cleaned out.

Just a quick update regarding recon Haldex units
If you go to Bell website and look at pictures of recon Haldex
You can clearly see a new end cap fitted to the accumulator spring housing.

This looks like Bell are the only people removing the spring and properly cleaning
the Haldex internals😀

Hi Mowog.
Do you know this for certain 100% i know the photo shows a new plunger spring cap, i can not believe that any other gearbox specialist's can not do the same.

£750+vat it does not state that the spring is removed and serviced or replaced, and only give a 12 month warranty i would have thought if you are that confident in your product you would get more warranty?

I was supposed to go in tomorrow for the juddering fix but got it sorted by Matt at Auto fault finder, its states in Bell Engineering there is no warranty or guarantee this put me off completely.

For everyone’s information, we used to remove the accumulator with the recon units, but we now don’t sell recon units, what we offer is you bring the car in and we fix your own units. We discovered that the accumulator is nothing to do with the juddering issue, and the piston is under so much pressure that when closed there is never any gunk inside the accumulator www.bellengineering.co.uk

I don’t have anyone booked in for a haldex fix tomorrow?? What are you booked in for?

Edited: after reading your thread i remember you cancelling, but hat you have had done to stop scrabbling is either lucky due to unit being cleaned and cleaned, but it usually comes back, or the haldex module has been reprogrammed to just reduce rear traction at low speeds, so a work around rather than an actual fix of the root cause. I’m glad it’s worked for you but it’s not actually the reason it happens and I’ll be really really interested if it’s a permanent fix. We used to alter the pressure they worked at in 2019, which has the same effect but found the problem returned on several units after a while so decided it wasnt a robust fix www.bellengineering.co.uk

It turned out that the dealer only changed the haldex pump, they never cleaned or flushed the Haldex out, so it was me that changed the oil only.

It was decided not to clean the pump out or the filter, so we could in fact know what solved the grabbing problem.

I cannot understand why you would not want to give a warranty or guarantee on your Haldex service fix, it make no sense to me, that was why i was put off taking up your offer.

Matt at auto fault finder is always at the end of the phone if need be for any reason i need it and for other customers, the fix has been about for quite a while now, 3yrs or more and a lot have used it, no come backs to date so i am reliably informed.

I have changed the diff oil and drilled and tapped a new drain hole recently in fact on the day i was supposed to come to you, so the day was not wasted after all.

I am sure people will use whom they see fit and what works best for them.
