Totally agree with all of the above. Especially coming back with the final answer.
I joined here long before i got my FL2, member of the D2 Boys club forum, very like here , extremely helpful.
Reading and checking convinced me to go for the FL2.
Haynes manual and Autel AP200 is a great help.
So lads, keep up the good work and just accept a pat on the back from all here. Jim A

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

I'm on a few forums.
It seems to me that most new members turn up to ask a question, or get help with an issue, which is fine.
However over the last couple of years I've noticed these new members are getting very rude. No please, no thank you, some come a ask a question, get lots of helpful advice, but they seem to just disappear. Some don't agree with the suggestions and get rude and aggressive.

I find it difficult to bite my tongue in such situations, and sometimes I don't. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.
Hyundai Ionic 5 Ultimate on order.
Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE.

Doing the rounds a while back was a list of Quantas airline pilot fault reports and the subsequent mechanics replies.

"Something loose in the cockpit"
"Something tightened"

Was one of my favourites Jules

The FL2 is a mixture of physical parts, controlled and MONITORED by some complex interconnected electronic modules.

Please buy a code reader (even a cheap one will do to give an idea of what the car thinks) and include error codes current and pending.

Make sure that Model and MY shows in your PROFILE slot.

Tell us; what are the symptoms, and when you first noticed them.

Some History/Service History of the car, and what happened, or was changed prior to fault. (include any non-standard parts or mods to hardware/software)

Has anything else started to play up?

And have you used the search function of the site.

While trying to help out my wife with a Sewing Machine malfunction, I was reminded that it is sometimes important to go back to find 'What does work NORMALLY', as well as what doesn't.
Many, many, years ago when I found faults for a living, I used to find that it was often to easy to get obsessed with looking at the fault, when looking at the bigger picture made it a lot easier to understand what was going wrong.

Also, when stuck, I used to find that phoning and discussing it with other engineers was very important as when explaining your actions to someone else, you spotted things that you may missed or taken for granted in your investigation.

Checking and ruling out all the things that are right should leave you with what is wrong.

The Repair Manual is a good place to find how it should work. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 76k+ miles) (MY2015)
