Wing Mirror replacement glass

Have looked right through Maintenance and Modifications but nobody appears to have broken a wing mirror glass, so would appreciate hits on how to release the capping's and eclectic adjustment to enable fitment of the replacement glass which Duckworth,s delivered within 48 hours (thanks).
Any help would be much gratefully received. .

I am pretty sure the glass is fixed to the adjustmant part like most other mirror glasses, i.e. on the back of the mirror is stuck a plastic ring about the size of a CD with little clip like edges, and they just press on to the adjustment part. The old one you just gently pry it off, taking care of your fingers. Its only guess but I am 99% sure. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

My passenger side glass needed replacing a while ago and I watched the dealers mechanic fit it whilst I followed his instructions, moving the mirror up and down with the switch.

He had done it before and made it look fairly easy, but there is some sort of top and bottom clip behind the glass that sits over a fitting on the back and he admitted that is a bit fiddly.

I would go back and ask them very nicely to fit it for you - Mine didn't charge, but then they do get my regular servicing (3 in 14 months) FL2 TD4 XS Santorini

You could try this as I doubt this is different to the Fl2

Many thanks to ad210358, Dougden, Nodosh on Disco3 and CG for advice. As Nodosh and Dougden stated it was a bit fiddly but all sorted now.

Further question. i noticed that Nodosh's Byline states that he has unlocked the "off road satnav" presumably on a Disco and wondered if this info would work for the FL2? therefore would I have to register on the Disco3 forum to contact him? and can you do this if you do not actually own a Disco?

Again thanks to all.

The Disco and FL2 have got different satnav systems so I don't think it would be possible Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
