Tesco pubs!

There are rumours that tescos are planning to buy one of the beleaguered pub companies! would you choose a tescos blue and white striped value pint of larger or stump up the extra for a tescos finest brew Confused would you earn clubcard points for each pint?

Personally I'd avoid like the plague and go to a proper pub Evil or Very Mad At work

would be quite novel

Only problem is if you go in with somebody who doesn't look 18 they won't serve you, just like my local Tesco store when i went in with one of my 22 year old office staff Rolling Eyes

She bought a ham sandwich and i got a sandwich and i also bought some cider and lager for that night TV night in, even though I am clearly old enough (though youthfull) they said I may be buying for my colleague who did have ID

I now ask my 3 year old son if he is ok drinking Stella and white wine when i am at the till with him whilst purchasing my beverage Rolling with laughter Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I'm 39 (but don't look a day over 37) and was asked for ID only a month or two back at Tesco.
The daft old doll said she has to ask everyone who looks young!! good job the missus who's 28 had her driving licence on her. I was buying a 21yo Malt that was on offer (to sell in my hotel) Not Alchopops or what ever the kids binge on.

Like them or not Tesco do somethings very well, I am a value seeker (aka tight arse) and there are some things for which Tesco can be good value for money ... if thats what they offer then I'll buy from them; if I think I can get better value elsewhere then I'll go elsewhere.

If they were to operate a pub near me that sold beer I liked at a price I was prepared to pay (and offered clubard points too) them i might go in there. My number 1 loyalty is to myself, and my wallet, I'll go wherever I think I can get the best deal for me, whether its Tesco or any other name over the door. Stornoway Grey GS ... You are 100% right, so if Tesco were to make a go of this that is the model they would have to follow ...

Is that likely to happen ... probably not .... but that is their choice ...

I'm sure CG could tell us much more about tesco's tactics from a farmer's point of view ... Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!
