Selling on Ebay Any Do's and Don'ts ?

I am thinking of selling my 1982 LR series 3 on Ebay.

I've not sold a vehicle on ebay before.

Just wondered if they were any useful "do's and don'ts" to be gleaned from those that have used Ebay to sell a vehicle. Jules

Do it as a classified ad. Fixed rate and will remain active until you pull it or sell the vehicle. No point doing it as an auction with a "reserve" as people often lose interest if bidding and keep getting the "reserve not met" message . In my experience I've had this happen on a few occasions where the bidders lost interest close to the reserve, which then means relisting it.
Also, I found this tactic worked . I advertised a series 3 ex-Military for £500 more than I was willing to take, but did it with a Buy it Now or Best Offer. People think they're getting a bargain if they can get something off. I was offered £250 less than the Buy it Now price which was £250 more than I was willing to take.

How about a few pics and price via the forum first to test the water ? Some of us on here are more than just Freelander owners - we're Land Rover enthusiasts too. I've had around 15 series Landys over the years , along with Discos, Defenders etc.
You never know, there may be someone on here that might just snap it up before it goes on Ebay, thus saving you the fees.
