Decided to go for Q5 as over 12 month wait for Macan in basic form -2nd hand cars are ‘silly’ money.

Good for you ! I’m sure you’ll love the Audi , what sort of spec are you looking at ?
They are a very smart car with a lot of presence on the road . I can understand the hesitance to buy a used car . I’ve just had my HiLux invincible X pushed back to March 2023 and I ordered it 12 months ago . The dealer has said don’t cancel , as I’ve got a fixed discounted price , and the list has already gone up. He’s selling 12 month old pick ups , repossessed from lease , for more than new at the moment , that surely can’t last . Need a car within next few months so dealer thinks can get me Q5 TDI ‘S’ line by end September - factory order is by end of the year.
Don’t want large wheels and I consider car has enough spec on it without ticking all the extra boxes.
Have been offered a petrol but still doing 12k miles per year so want max MPG so decided to stay with diesel.

Nice . I’ve had company Audis when I was working , they are really well put together vehicles . The seats were great . The diesel engines really strong .

It’s funny to get to a time in life when you can drive want you want , but no one has it in stock ! A couple of years ago we’d be ringing round dealers and getting the lowest bid .

Good choice, but I (we, it was Mrs BB who loved the Macan in cream leather and blue paint) wanted the Macan, we drove a Q5 but at the time it felt too much like our Q3 we were going from, just bigger. But saying that the Q3 we had for three years and it was flawless.

And yes, there is no decent Audi forum like this, stay here…..I did  Regards

I think diesel is still the sensible choice. The Audi will be a great choice in S line trim.
I'd definitely consider Skoda Kodiaq or Superb 4x4 next time but hopefully the Freelander will do me a few years yet. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948
