England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Barolo Black
First landrover

Hi guys I purchased my first landrover today a 2007 fl2 with 180k on the clock. Got it cheap because it's going to need a fair bit of work but on opening all the bumf the guy supplied I've found it it had the cambelt, clutch and fly wheel done about 50k ago. The body looks fairly straight so maybe not as much work as I'd expected. Anyway I look forward to learning and having a laugh with you guys.

Welcome...

Is it quiet while driving, no humming or droning sound?
(Rear diff pinion bearing is a common issue)

Hi, not that I have noticed. I did a twentyISH miles on the M1 at 70 and it felt smooth. I've had a quick spin around the farm roads at the top end of the village and none of the ruts and pot holes worried it.

Hi from me also have a look at the rear door shuts at the bottom where the rubber part on the door touches.

Thank you all for the warm welcome and advice. I'll be spending the weekend going over
Her with a fine tooth comb. I've wanted one for a long old time and finally found one I could afford, I know I'm going to be working hard to get her into shape but I'm looking forward to it.

I forgot yours is same year as mine so check if it has the extra earth strap fitted and if it isn’t playing up the steering lock module will refuse to let the car start at some point lots of clicking in the passenger footwell a steering lock emulator will sort it ive just looked at the one I got and there seems to be an updated version now.
