ATCM Lost communication error

i have been intermittently getting reduced performance limp mode, under gentle acceleration, which clears after switching off, locking the car and letting it shut down fully. Seems to be coming on when accelerating from low speed up a hill.

Codes have been read as ATCM Lost communication (ATCM - All terrain control module)

Austen at Bell has confirmed that the haldex wouldnt induce restricted performance.

Can anyone advise me where the ATCM module is located please, to check wiring. Its not the fuse as it happens intermittently so thinking wiring is loose or damaged on the module maybe.

TIA

Rog

It's the unit with the Terrain control knob and the two switches on the centre console

mines a 2013 with the TR buttons instead of the dial. Is that classed as the ATCM module ?

wasnt sure if its located in the boot side panels like a lot of the modules are.

From a diagnostic log of my 13MY, the ATCM part number starts dh52-14B596

And when I google the part number I get;

So for me, that is definitely the ATCM

They have that annoying IL AG5 (JAE) connector (green thing) which is notorious for letting the pins get wet and corroding on the surface. You might find plugging and unplugging a few times cures the issue

that makes sense Vanny, thank you very much Thumbs Up

could be that the close proximity to the cup holder has resulted in some fluid ingress. The reduced power warning is more frequent now and it definitely feels like the car is 'dragging' just before it comes on so could be one of the AT modes kicking in and locking 4x4 such as sand mode

its booked in at my trusted indy on Monday but ill try and find the time and weather over the weekend to have a look
