2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Stornoway Grey

FL2 2017 TD4SE OFTEN WILL NOT START WITHOUT BATTERY RESET

2007 FL2 TD4SE. Frequently will not start. Instrument lights come on ok, but won’t start. Maybe outside temperature dependent as daytime 30C plus. New keys. New starter motor. Will crank after disconnecting then reconnecting the battery. Suggests something is being reset. Authorised dealer said it was the starter motor. Cannot be that. Battery tested seems fine.
Any recommendations please.

The local mechanic tested and reported an issue “ the vehicle reckons it’s been in a prang”. However the dealer said there aren’t any software code updates. I’m hopeful that an auto spark can happen upon a solution!
