One trick is the old tipper drivers trick of keeping cab floor dry.
Cover your spare with a complete newspaper. This will absorb the condensation. Just remember to change every so often.
On my old Disco 1 i had to completely remove the carpet and the foam underlay as it was soaking.
My reckoning that the dampness came from condensation on the hatch to top of fuel tank. After i dried out the carpet(3 days) i covered the hatch with a newspaper, which i checked and changed,. Five years later when i sold the Disco 1 the carpet was still bone dry.
Just my observations.

Sit it on & wrap in bubble wrap. Two layers if necessary.

We used to get condensation on the trim panel of the tailgate from sleeping in the car, a lot of condensation. Since putting in acoustic insulation foam the condensation stopped.

The tyre needs a bit of insulation so its cold thermal mass has a barrier between warmer humid air. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
