Thanks for all your feedback, knowing what the outcome is very useful to the forum, and allows us all to learn, for when we see the problem (again?).

I noticed, that when reading through the search results, too many posters do not let us know how the actual problem was solved. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 76k+ miles) (MY2015)

You’re welcome.

I know what you mean, I’ve come across so many posts (on other forums too) where you never actually get to know what the issue may have been or the resolve.

Hi bud, literally had the exact same thing happen the other day and the same sas you it seemingly fixed itself on its own. Mine was after I had the clutch replaced by a mobile mechanic in the rain. It would seem the same as you that water has got into something causing the engine to fire up for a minute then cut out, hopefully that will he the end of both of our issues 👍

That’s awesome news! Let’s hope that’s the end for now.

One thing I did find though when searching for what it could be, I found that the wires under the inlet hose for the air filter need to be re-wrapped because it rubs and has worn the tape away and is starting to wear away at the wires themselves so it’s worth checking 👍🏼
