Help Needed - Engine issues

Hi All, hoping someone can shed some light on my engine trouble.

Driving at 70mph on A1 when had sudden loss of power, pulled into hard shoulder turned the engine off and restarted, drove on and same issue around half a mile later however this time lots of smoke from engine bay and very strong oil smell. Managed to get a tow home as didn’t want to cause any damage. Got a small oil leak underneath now but nothing significant. 2.2 TD4 engine.

Be giving the garage a ring in the morning but I’d like to see if anyones had the same issue. Got no fault codes and no warning lights on dash.

Thanks in advance.

I'm no expert but could it be a turbo hose that's gone? That might explain loss of power and if my engine is anything to go by, there might be enough rebreather oil to give an oily smell, smoke and a drip. 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

split turbo hose is top of my list.

Had one blow off on a Skoda Fabia VRS. Picked car up from garage, put my foot down on coming off a roundabout, got a loud pop , sudden loss of power and loads of black exhaust smoke (over fuelling with loss of turbo boost).
Quick look under the bonnet revealed turbo hose had blown off. Luckily had tools in the car to refit hose and tighten the jubilee clip. Jules

Thanks for the help everyone, much appreciated.

I’ll have a proper look today to see if it is in fact the turbo hose. If so that’ll be getting fixed asap….if not back to the garage we go!
