Not charging properly

This is my first post on here . About three months ago I had to get a Freelander 2 , 2007 , td4 GS . It was like an itch I had to scratch !
My first issue was the battery light was flickering (dimly ) . I bought it like this , the seller told me the battery was 6 months old , so I thought it may be the alternator . Luckily (for me ) I googled the problem , up popped a solution on a forum , and cannot find it now . It was suggested to remove the fuel filter and underneath should be a blue wire . This wire sometimes gets damaged on a hose ferrule . Mine was not damaged there , but I ran my thumbnail along the wire and felt a nick in it . I pulled the wire and it parted . I repaired the wire and BINGO ! All sorted . I have recently sold it with the intention to get a newer automatic . I apologise if it was this forum that helped me out , but I cannot find it . A BIG THANKYOU to who ever it was . Thumbs Up

@Jaunoff

Glad you got it sorted. That blue wire is so well out of sight one wouldn't think about it being the cause without threads like these. Jules
