When the throttle body stripped its nylon gears on our MY10 the clattering / clacking noise on shut down actually had nearby people looking at the car. It was very loud and started very suddenly… no gentle clatter gradually worsening, it just went from silent to wake the dead in one fell swoop. |

As you both mention throttle body will start there. Am not at home at present so no OBD reader to see if that points at anything. Yes the noise is quite noticeable and just came out of the blue. Quite one day a racket the next.

Yes she has the well know knackered plastic teeth syndrome, both plastic cogs missing teeth. New body on order. |
